A new guesthouse and a renovated back patio.

Nestled in a beautiful historic neighborhood, Amy’s house had seen over 100 years of history, and we were asked to ensure that it could see another 100 years. Along with a kitchen refresh, a dedicated office, and a brand new primary suite, Amy wanted to create a backyard space for entertaining guests.

While straddling the line of appeasing the Metro Historic Zoning Commission and staying true to the look and feel of the original house and neighborhood, we were able to update the space to match the modern needs of the client.

To accomplish this, we designed an addition to the main house, a brand new backyard layout with full landscaping plan, and a DADU complete with a carport. Now not only does Amy have a lovely space to host large gatherings at her house, but she can offer her guests a place to stay the night should they get too…tired.

Clayton and the rest of the Bevel team were delightful to work with! From the design process to the finishing touches, they were always easy to reach and quick to respond. The renovation completely transformed the feel and usability of my space. I love my newly expanded house and landscaping and will definitely reach out to them in the future for additional design-build needs.
